What a catalog month costs without a photo shoot

A published Colombo fashion booking for 25 catalog photos, set next to an InstantSnap month, and where the saving actually comes from.

A clothing catalog used to be a booking. You paid for the photographer’s time, the room, and then again for each picture that came back edited. InstantSnap replaces that booking with a phone photo and a monthly allowance. The gap is large enough to count.

A month of catalog photos can start as a phone on the counter. The prints are the shots, not a studio day.

What the traditional bill includes

Prices vary, and a photographer you already know may charge less. The shape of the bill is stable: a day, a room, and a price for each finished file. One published Colombo fashion rate card lists a four-hour photographer at LKR 65,000, studio time at LKR 10,000 for five hours, and editing at LKR 350 a picture. A model, and hair and makeup, are often another line on top.

The backdrop, the lights, and the day are what the booking is paying for. InstantSnap does not rent them.

The same twenty-five photos on a plan

Add the worked example: LKR 65,000 for the photographer, LKR 10,000 for the studio, and LKR 8,750 to edit twenty-five pictures. That is about LKR 84,000, and it does not include a model. InstantSnap Standard is 25 studio shots for LKR 1,500 in the same month, which is LKR 60 a shot. The difference on that one refresh is more than LKR 80,000.

Premium is 65 shots for LKR 3,000, about LKR 46 a shot. Growth is 150 shots for LKR 7,000, about LKR 47 a shot. Free is 5 shots at no charge, which is enough to see the workflow before a paid month. These are the prices published for a workspace today. The list below is the current allowance. If a price on the card in the app differs, the card is the one you pay.

Where the saving actually is

You are not saving by taking a worse photo of the garment. You are skipping the crew around it. The phone photo still has to show the real piece. InstantSnap then puts it on a model, or leaves it as a product, and sets the angle, background, and frame. A new color or a second frame is another studio shot, not another booking.

A busy shop that needs more than the allowance in one month moves up a plan, or waits for the reset. That is still a month of catalog photos, not a day rate. The garment has to be real. The saving is everything that used to be hired around it.
